Optik on Apple TV won't show prior hours content

Optik TV on the Apple TV used to allow you to watch earlier content but in the last few weeks it won't allow me to rewind, or play a show from the start, or even go to an earlier show in the day and play it. I have a subscription to Optik+ and it used to allow these options on the Apple TV. Is this a change to the Apple TV app, or is there something wrong with my config? I have restarted the Apple TV, and am running version 18.4 of the OS.

 

Maybe it works on the Optik TV dedicated box, but I don't use it. It isn't the device that I prefer since I have other apps and services that all work nicely on my Apple TV.

The restart (and rewind/fast forward) experience is designed to be consistent across the TELUS TV+ app and Optik set-top boxes. On the TELUS TV+ app for Apple TV, I can see the option to restart shows, both those that are currently live and in-progress, as well as those that aired up to 30 hours in the past. I can also rewind shows that I've paused. To restart shows that have already finished, you should be able to navigate to 'Yesterday' in the guide, scroll left in the guide or select 'Restart Live TV' from a show that you searched. To restart shows that are still airing live, you can pause the show, press down on the Apple TV remote and click the 'Restart' icon; a circular arrow pointing up and to the left. If you are missing this functionality entirely, please ensure that you are on the latest app version (2.18.0 (866)).

A few notes on the above:

 

1. You can only rewind to the point that you started watching a particular program; if you tuned in to a channel with an hour-long show at 10:18am and it's now 10:45am, you have the option to either restart the show from 10:00am OR rewind to 10:18am.

2. Most content providers restrict the ability to fast forward both Live and On Demand programs.

3. Restart rights vary from channel to channel. Some providers do not allow restart at all. Some do not allow it away from your TELUS home internet. So there may be channels that you notice do not have the ability to restart. Those that DO have the restart icon badge in the guide.

4. Channels included in Stream+ subscriptions are not restartable. Most channels included in Optik TV subscriptions ARE.

Up until last week I was able to go to CNN channel up until 5:55pm then hit restart and then fast forward through the slow stuff and ads. This no longer works. Why?
