Syncing two home service contracts?

newio
Organizer

I've previously asked about this, but now I've called in and I'm a bit confused.

I have an Internet 250 contract expiring soon, and a TV contract expiring in a year (May 2026). It would be  convenient if they could be synchronized and ended at the same time (May 2026?) . I called and a Loyalty agent said they could start a new 2-year contract for both services now, but were offering me (after a long wait on hold) a higher rate than I was already paying. Furthermore, on the website (I am logged in), there is a button to "Upgrade now" to Gigabit internet for $75/month (includes $5/mnth prepayment, & it adds to a cart just fine), which was lower than the agent was offering for 250, but they said the website might not be a real offer to existing customers and I could end up paying more, and they were offering the best possible rate and started in on a sales pitch lauding the quality of Telus fibre. This didn't make sense to me, nor did the sales pressure feel right. Is the website lying? And is the only way to sync contracts by accepting a new contract for 2 years for both services? Thank you.

Hi, thank you for reaching out and for being a valued TELUS customer.

The offers displayed on your MyTELUS account (such as the $75/month Gigabit Internet) are generally tailored and valid for existing customers, though some offers may vary depending on your region, account status, or eligibility. We’d be happy to confirm this for your specific account.

To align your Internet and TV contract end dates, it’s true that both services would need to be renewed under a new 2-year agreement. This ensures the contract terms and promotions line up moving forward.

To review your specific offers and help sync your contracts with accurate pricing, we recommend sending us a private message with your account details.
