Switching the NH20A modem from Bridge mode to Routing

LB_Hill
Neighbour

I am ultimately trying to add a Nighthawk WiFi 6 wireless router to replace the Boost Hub.

I would first like to say hello to all as from what I have read so far, there are quite a few very knowlegeable people here.. I am very new to telus but do have quite a bit of knowhow on computers an how settings on various devices work..  My spelling... not so much

Can someone point me in the right direction on how to do this

Thanks for your time,,, the reply is not urgent so back to me at your convenience

Hi there,

  1. Disconnect the Boost Hub. Unplug the Boost Hub from your modem and power source.
  2. Connect Your Nighthawk. Plug your Nighthawk router into the TELUS modem using an Ethernet cable (usually into port 1). Power on your router and give it a minute to boot up.
  3. Set Up Your Router.
  4. Optional (Bridge Mode – if needed): If your TELUS modem/router is providing Wi-Fi as well, you may want to disable its WiFi or enable bridge mode, so your Nighthawk is the only router managing traffic.

If I understand correctly I would have to factory reset the Hub and change it from routing to Bridge then connect and configure the NightHawk

Hi Thanks for the reply
Bridge mode is the stickler. the Modem does not carry wifi so there is no setting for bridge mode..there is a setting on the network access hub

Yes, if you're planning to use your Nighthawk router as the main router, you'd typically need to.
