Telus tv 21T andriod box

Hello,

I am experiencing problems with getting 5.1 surround sound out of the new Telus 21T android box.

I have confirmed that the problem is with the output of the Telus box it self.

I am running 2 of these boxes in the system, box #2 is producing audio at the correct volume but box #1 is coming in at about 50% of the other box.

Any suggestions or settings to fix this?

The master volume on box 2 may be set too low...you can unpair the remote from your TV, increase the volume on the box itself without touching the TV/receiver volume, and then re-pair the remote to your TV. Instructions on unpairing/pairing here: https://www.telus.com/en/support/article/telus-tv-digital-box-remote

I am a retired telus optik tv android box tech.  first of all I would check the specifications. if 5.1 is a big thing then I  would talk to loyalty about getting the legacy system,  they could do a override or cancel the account and do a new account on the old legacy boxes.  my information may be a little out of date as I retired almost a year ago.  so recap talk to loyalty it's the option when you call in you want to cancel your service hopefully they can help.

The new equipment supports Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital + and Dolby Atmos with DD+. You can find these options in Settings > Device settings > Device Preferences > Display & Sounds > Advanced sound settings (note that Dolby Atmos shows as unsupported in the picture as my specific setup doesn't support it rather than the equipment not supporting it).
