I am looking for help to get my 2 Optik TV boxes that are wired to my LAN to work on my Asus AT-AX86U Pro...
I just purchased the RT-AX86U Pro to replace my RT-AC68U which has been working flawlessly with the Optik TV boxes for 5+ years with just a few IPTV router settings. However with this new router I can't seem to get passed the live TV shows stopping after about 10 seconds.
In order to overcome this problem with my previous router I had to set Use DHCP routes: Microsoft, Enable multicast routing, and Enable efficient multicast forwarding (IGMP Snooping). However the IGMP Snooping is not available other than under WiFi settings.
I have searched the websites, multiple forums, videos etc. I have found many with the issue but have been unable to find a concrete solution. Telus and ASUS support are not much help either.
So far the only way I have managed to get it to work is to specifically assign the router port to the box but I am unable to run it that way as I only have one ethernet cable going upstairs and it handles more than just the Telus box.
Any help would be appreciated.

Third party routers do not all support multicast data which the Optik TV set top boxes require to stream. Some router manufacturers obscure it as part of the IGMP Snooping settings but others just call it what it is. Your new router either doesn't support it or it is not enabled on it. Look through the settings for that on the new router and enable multicast data.
If you look in the admin interface, is there an IPTV tab under Advanced Settings > LAN and an option "Enable multicast routing"? If yes, change the drop down from Disable to Enable and hit Apply below it. Another newer Asus router has it looking like this:

Thank you so much for the response. I should have mentioned that I have tried these settings and various combinations of them.
Select ISP Profile: None
Choose IPTV STB Port: None
Use DHCP routes: Microsoft
Enable multicast routing: Enable
Default IGMP version: IGMP v3
Enable Fast Leave: Disable
UDP Proxy (Udpxy): 0
Tried these combinations…….
Use DHCP routes: RFC3442 & Microsoft
Default IGMP version: IGMP v2
Read that turning off in Wifi Professional area the IGMP Snooping: Disable don both WiFi channels and tried this with both IGMP v2 & IGMP v3
Choosing IPTV STB Port: LAN2 – This works!...but nothing else connected to the switch along with the STB gets internet.
I have also tried the latest Merlin firmware.
