I am trying to debug some connection and disabled the blocking ping feature on the router.
This actually works from local network so after disabling the block pinging the WAN IP works from local network ( NAT ). However it does not work from outside.
I am talking about the IP listed on WhatismyIP website.
So WhatismyIP website list My Public IPv4:209.121.228.55
On the modem I have : Modem IP Address: 100.84.135.229
The IP reported on modem does not respond to ping regardless the place.
How can I unblock ping.
Which address should I use for inbound connection? ( Assuming VPN would work )

Has nothing to do with blocking ping. You are on CGNAT. You will NOT be able to ping / connect from outside the home because your router isn't directly exposed to the internet. Search the forums for CGNAT. This is not a new thing.

Great,
Thanks for the info @Nighthawk so the word should "downgraded to fiber" .
How about IPV6 will that work ?

I used to have an inbound VPN setup for PPTP this worked great until I was upgraded to fiber.
The tech person also changed the router with a similar one, I guess newer frm.
There are not so many setup options, just application forwarding -> PPTP -> VPN server (nat)
Any idea what should I request from Telus? Their support is useless....
