Telus migration to gmail

deisman

Finally had enough of "off shore Telus" and am pulling the plug and going elsewhere.

I am unable to find anyone at telus to help me with downloading my email archives.  Many of these emails are importand but telus's email administrator appear to be non-existant. Unlike a regular gmail acct. my telus dot net  email which telus migrated to google around 2020 has many of googles features disabled.. The feature that allows me to download my emails/contacts/data is disabled and can only be enabled by the administrator.    Google Takeout which is not enabled  allows you to download a copy of your data stored within Google products. Therefore I am unable to save my data. Telus's off shore customer support seems to be the only aassistance available and they have no idea how to help. Seems it is near impossible to speak with a Canadian rep.   Because of their poor service I am closing my account with them and need my data.  Can you help?

When I go to Contacts in my Telus email via a browser there is an option in the top right corner to export them.

I primarily use Outlook to access my Telus email and it keeps a local copy of all my email. I suspect there are other 3rd party mail clients that can do this.

Just a long time customer hoping to help.

Local copy would involved POP3 or manually copying messages to a local folder in a mail client on a computer. If it was regular IMAP (default for most mail apps) or Gmail then it just mirrors what's on the server. If OP cancelled his service, he'd lose all the email unless it was downloaded to a mail client first.

I use outlook to access my gmail. Do not have Telus email.

But Telus must work the same in OUTLOOK if you set it up for a Telus email account and archive all you want to your device

I don't download anything.  I just forward all the important emails in my Telus email account to myself in my Gmail account.
