Hi and thanks in advance for any help.
We just got my son his first laptop. I would like to use open dns to filter adult and mature content. To do this, I would like to set up one wifi ssid for him to use. I know the T3200m does not allow for individual DNS info per SSID. So I thought I could use the port 1 bridge, add a third party router that would be configured to connect through open dns.
My question is, can I leave the rest of the home’s devices on the SSIDs we currently use from the T3200M? As well as optik TV?
Any suggestions on the best way to achieve this would be appreciated, thanks.

Wouldn't the easier to set the DNS in Windows to filter this content for their laptop? That way, they won't be exposed to the content you are trying to keep them from when they are using WiFi at a friends place, library, or hotspoting their mobile device.

Can I do that in the network settings? I thought DNS was set on the wifi router…. But yes, that would be far easier. I’ll give it a shot.

To avoid a lot of typing, I will leave a link to How To Geek's already and very well written guide.

Their guide uses the Google DNS as their example. Just swap that with the DNS server info of your choice.

Thank you very much!

Anytime.
There is no 100% solution, even if you added it to the router as well. These filters only identify so much and kids today are very smart when it comes to technology. Keep being that pro-active parent and always keep an eye on what your kids are doing to make sure they are practising safe internet behavior.

Of course. Computer is only going to be used in our visconity. We will monitor where he goes and discuss things with him along the way. This is more to avoid the obvious and easy route to inappropriate content.
