my sister was house and pet-sitting and just got out of the shower when a telus surveyor and his trainee came to the door. She was trying to handle 2 big dogs who were barking like crazy while also getting dressed, telling the guys to give her a minute. they kept staying in the view of the dogs which eventually she gave up and let them run around the house barking while explaining to the surveyors that a) it wasn’t her house and b) it wasn’t a good time. the guy kept asking her questions about her own phone and internet plan and then began making sexist and misogynistic comments about how “pops takes care of the phone bill” and insinuated that she was not responsible for her own device or her finances. even with the 2 big dogs she was spooked and forced niceties purely for safety. I have tried everything to try to file a complaint, i feel like i’ve opened the same webpage a hundred times im going to rip my hair out. I cannot contact a support person by phone due to lack of cell reception, the ai chat refuses to let me live-chat with a representative, and i highly doubt the support team on X will read my long-winded messages. oh, and did i mention we’re not even telus customers??? don’t think we will be after this fiasco…

While Telus does have some door to door sales people that are legit, a Telus surveyor seems suspicious. Depending on where in Canada the house is, there have been some reports that I've seen of scammers going door to door pretending to be from Telus, Bell or Rogers. Mostly in Ontario but I imagine the scammers are active in other areas of the country as well.

Oh wow thank you so much for bringing this to my attention. Since I wasn’t there I can’t know for sure but my sister said they were in full telus uniforms with the reflective jackets. We will be keeping a close eye on the neighbourhood going forward. thanks so much for your reply!!
