Hi, wondering if anyone else has experienced, or is experiencing intermittent connection issues with their device plugged into the WiFi modem with a CAT5e Ethernet cable?..
I recently upgraded from 1.0G to 1.5G hoping that it MIGHT somehow resolve this issue, however, it's persistent.
Currently I have my new PC plugged in directly to the WiFi modem from the 2.5G port to my PC's 2.5G port.
Every so often my internet completely drops out, my PC indicates that nothing is connected, but then after about 15-30 seconds it reconnects. Nothing is changing on the light on the WiFi modem, it's staying solid green. I have tried taking every step possible to verify that this isn't a hardware issue on my PC's side. I have followed all the steps set out by Telus in order to have this issue stop, however, nothing has worked for that either.
I'm really stuck, and left scratching my head. I want to game, stream, and enjoy my time on the internet, however, it's disconnecting at the worst times possible and is becoming grossly bothersome and annoying.
if anyone has any feedback for me, that'd be amazing. Anything would help!
Thank you in advance. I'll do my best to answer questions promptly and give detailed answers.

When you say 'wifi modem', is there a model number or anything to identify which device you have? The only one I'm familiar with that has a 2.5gbps LAN port is the Wifi 6 Boost AP. If that's what you have, that is merely just a wireless access point and not the actual router.
Which of the below hardware do you have?

Boost Wifi AP | Telus Home Wifi Hub | Network Access Hub | T3200M |
If it is the Boost AP, how is it getting the network connection from the actual router? Ethernet or Coax?

It could be a hardware issue. You need to change your network or resolve the issue in hardware.

Does the Boost 6 actually have a 2.5G output? I suspect the 2.5G & 5.0G are inputs

Hi @DriFD3S - try having your modem connected to the NAH via the 2.5Gb port and your PC connected to a 1Gb port. That may fix the stability issue you're experiencing

Hey, I tried this, and I'm still occasionally getting the same issue.
I think I might potentially have defective hardware.
Plus, I really dislike being capped at 1G, when I should be getting 1.5G, because I'm using the wrong port...

OK, so, UPDATE... I'm even more confused now than before.
I tried switching my connection to directly to the Internet Box, bypassing the Wi-Fi.
PC directly to NAH.
Here's the crazy thing, I assumed that there would be zero connection issues, however, I was wrong.
Still intermittent internet disconnections???
I have absolutely no idea what to do about this now...

Even though you're using a CAT5e, we recommend testing with a CAT6 or CAT6a cable to ensure maximum bandwidth and signal stability, especially with 2.5G ports. Double-check that your PC’s Ethernet drivers are up to date. In rare cases, even with a proper cable, a specific LAN port on the modem or the network interface card (NIC) on your PC may be the culprit. If you haven’t already, we’d suggest doing a port swap (try another Ethernet port) and, if possible, testing the PC with a different modem/router just to further isolate the issue.

On the Optik TV sub forum I discovered in January that the 110v power supply was the problem. Many others solved the intermittent TV by replacing the power cord. I am not having your issue with internet (or at least have not noticed) so this is only a "why not try" replacing power supply as a test since you have exhausted other options. Voltage drop or amp supply to run hardware was the problem. No problems since cord change.
