Telus service and network reception is excellent apart from one negative aspect if you travel from Sault Ste. Marie to White River along the Trans-Canada Highway. There is a 93 km stretch with no cellular coverage along that route.

I understand there is no population although That must have been a frustrating situation without cellular coverage during an emergency. It's good that I was able to have another traveler use their phone to contact CAA for assistance. The lack of coverage on that 93 km stretch of the Trans-Canada Highway can definitely be a concern, especially for those needing to make emergency calls. Having a backup plan, like asking other travellers for help, is important when driving through areas with limited cellular service.

You mean another drive by had cell service on a different carrier, then you had cell service available by roaming.

I requested another traveler to help me make a call to the CAA. I believe he was with Rogers and connected through Baytel. There is almost a 150 km stretch with no signal from (between Wawa and Thunder Bay) Toronto to Vancouver. However, the coverage was good throughout the rest of the drive.
