The situation is this: two months ago, my "bring it back" contract for an iPhone 14 Pro expired. I wrote to support asking how much I should pay to keep it and pay less for the bill? To which the girl answered, "$450 and you can close the current number and open another one, then it will be cheaper." I agreed. The result is a bill for $500, next month - $800. Of course, I did not count on such an amount and I cannot pay right away. I contacted Telus "employees" 6 times. All 6 times they gave me different information. The last employee I spoke with answered me, "Yes, that girl made a mistake and that is why you are in this situation. But you still have to pay the entire debt + interest and penalties + it will go into your credit
I admit my mistake when I chose the carrier - I did not look at reviews and ratings. If you google "Telus reviews" - over 4000 reviews with 1 star, begging you to choose another carrier. Of course, I will do so when I free myself from this slavery.
Well, for now, I'm "enjoying" the $5 discount on family connection, huge bills, terrible connection quality, and other perks.

I encourage everyone to stop agreeing to deals by phone. Log into your account to make or change your plan.
Or ask for their name and phone number and call back then record the call. This is an all too common complaint
