July 2 - The Old Guard 2
Charlize Theron returns in the sequel to the worldwide superhero hit movie.
July 3 - The Sandman (Season 2 - Volume 1)
The first batch of episodes in the supernatural thriller's second and final season.
July 25 - Happy Gilmore 2
Adam Sandler returns in the iconic role alongside a cast of returning characters and cameos in this highly anticipated sequel.
Most Anticipated
Happy Gilmore 2 - Netflix
Almost 30 years later, I can't believe it's finally happening. Adam Sandler returns as Happy Gilmore in the sequel to what is potentially one of the funniest movies of all time. Alongside his other classic 'Billy Madison', the original Happy Gilmore is one of the classic 90's comedies and I'm so excited that the sequel is finally here. Three decades after winning his first professional golf tour championship, retired golfer Happy Gilmore returns to the sport he was destined to play in order to pay for his daughter's ballet school.
I must have seen the original Happy Gilmore no less than 30 times, and it's worth the watch every time. I'm so pumped that so many of the original cast members are returning as well, from Julie Bowen to Christopher McDonald and Ben Stiller. This is sure to be the perfect summer night movie. If you're a fan of the original (who isn't?) then you've already got plans on July 25 when Happy Gilmore returns to Netflix!
What I'm Watching Now
The Bear - Disney+
I'm admittedly late to the game on this series, but fortunately no longer. Currently I'm almost finished the second season and I now understand the hype. The terrific comedic drama The Bear is everything the critics say it is and more. Set in Chicago, a young chef from the fine dining world returns home to run his family sandwich shop after a devastating death in his family. The Bear is tense, hilarious, and bingeworthy in every sense of the word.
Starring Jeremy Allen White as Carmen Berzatto, The Bear is one of the best series I've seen in a while. Other than a few outliers, most episodes are around half an hour (or shorter) so no frames are wasted. Each episode moves briskly, and it's no surprise that those in the industry say the frantic stress and energy of The Bear is the most accurate onscreen portrayal of a restaurant kitchen ever. The characters are well written and exceptionally acted, and the overarching story is enough to keep you wanting to see what happens next. Be sure to check out all three seasons on Disney+ today!
