Hello,
Has this reward redeem $15/$25/$50 credit to pay towards bill been discontinued as I don't see it on the mytelus rewards page anymore? Thank you.

Hello. The option of using Rewards points to go towards your bill has been discontinued. There are still many other options, and our team is always looking into all options for point redemption in the future!

Well that's a bit disappointing to hear as I thought that was a great reward just for paying your bill. Glad I used my $50 credit a couple of months ago while it was still an option.

That is extremely disappointing to hear. The bill credit really helped with annual budgeting and was one of the factors in deciding to keep Telus' relatively expensive mobility service. Can the Telus Rewards Mastercard be used to pay a monthly bill?

I am also very disappointed. Being able to use Telus rewards points towards paying my bill was one of the factors I used to calculate that bundling Telus services was cheaper than other internet/mobility/security bundles. Not so much anymore. I hope Telus reinstates this option soon.

Discontinuing the bill credit as a reward option is a real disappointment. It was one of the reasons for keeping our home service with Telus. It makes no sense to deliberately poke your customers in the eye. If your team is looking "into all options" maybe they could start by looking at the option of reinstating this bill credit option!!

Why exactly did they discontinue this reward? Many of us found it helpful once a year.

VERY disappointing to hear of this! It is the only thing I ever put rewards points towards.

Once logged in to your TELUS Rewards account, you can click on 'Catalogue' at the top (in between 'Dashboard' and 'How it works', or the white button on the right hand side underneath your point total where it says 'Browse rewards catalogue'.

The Amazon gift card is a good option. Hopefully that will remain in the reward catalog.

Can the Telus Rewards Mastercard be used to pay a monthly bill?
03-11-2024 01:33 PM
It can be used to shop for accessories on telus.com/accessories or in TELUS stores.
03-12-2024 06:39 PM
So the Telus Rewards Mastercard cannot be used to pay our monthly bill?
03-13-2024 10:26 AM
Correct.

Another option is using it at telus.com/accessories if your local stores don't have anything that interests you.

In the catalogue, the item itself is called '$50 TELUS Stores prepaid Mastercard' and when you click it, under the big picture of the card itself it says in bold letters TELUS Prepaid MasterCard can only be used at TELUS stores or online at TELUS.com/accessories.
Then there's a box you'd have to tap/click that says 'Yes, I acknowledge and read the disclaimer' before you can even redeem it.

Our Rewards team is always looking at feedback, and of course the possibility of bringing back popular rewards that are not currently available.
05-06-2024 11:44 AM
This generic response is essentially the same rhetoric that keeps appearing whenever customers are very specifically and clearly telling you that they want the bill credit reward reinstated. So, how about a clear and specific response? Has the possibility of reinstating the reward been considered? And if so, when will it be reinstated? And if not, why not?
05-06-2024 11:47 AM
Yes it has. Can't provide a definitive timeframe. Because I don't have one.
05-06-2024 11:55 AM
Interesting. Just to be clear -- are you saying that reinstating the bill credit has been considered, or that a decision has been made to reinstate the bill credit, but you don't know exactly when this will be implemented? Knowing for sure that a reinstatement is coming, would be helpful.

Not sure, but our team is aware of the feedback since its removal and always considering options for the future.
